Kilim

This section from our Persian hand-knotted carpet collection is a very special category. The Kilim is one of the oldest types of carpets in the world. Originally, carpets in general were not used as floor coverings but rather as wall decorations or blankets for livestock. That is why the Kilim is so thin, to maintain its foldability optimally. Today, the Kilim is more than that and can be found in various trendy interiors as a floor rug. Traditionally, it has been very popular because it has a beautiful and warm character. In the past, people sometimes dabbed tea on the Kilim to make it look more antique. Today, that beautiful warm color is further enhanced in the Kilim by our weavers.

The Kilim is a very thin carpet, suitable for both indoors in your living room and outdoors on the veranda as a beautiful and summery floor rug. The patterns are very prominent here, in earthy brown and red tones. The geometric shapes add another dimension to the carpet and give your interior an extra touch. The pleasant price tag on this carpet makes it very popular with most people. It is suitable for young and old, as the Kilim can be styled in both vintage and modern settings.
