Afghan handknotted Chobi carpet or better known as Ziegler is a very popular style.These carpets have its own and unique features known in international markets by 'Afghani Chobi' or 'Ziegler'. Since the beginning of the 1990's Afghanistan has been supplying these types of styles to international markets. We use handspun yarn wool from Ghazni and they are dyed with wooden colored vegetables. In the Dari language 'Chob' means wood. Therefore these carpets are called 'Chobi', a reference to their natural colour created by the vegetable dye.
