Royal Wine Red Khal Mohammadi Carpet 237x169
Description
This carpet is exceptionally not named after a city or region, but after the legendary man, Khal Mohammadi, who created this unforgettable design. The father of 25 children was widely known for his talent in transferring art onto a carpet. He made this popular design while living in Afghanistan and personally designed the various shades of red. Today, this carpet is still produced in the Afghan city of Kunduz.
Additionally, the Khal Mohammadi is one of the first carpet types to be imported in large quantities to the Western market. It is very popular among people because of its very high quality and the rich wine-red color that accompanies it. These are all natural colors, obtained from various plants and types of wood, as with every carpet in our Persian collection. The carpet features different shades of red in the larger patterns. In addition, there are smaller details in black to give the carpet different dimensions. In terms of material, the Khal Mohammadi uses the highest quality wool to ensure the carpet's durability. This carpet is also known as 'Fil pai,' which means 'elephant foot' in Persian. This refers to the repetitive larger patterns present on the carpet that resemble an elephant's foot. The whole exudes pure class.
